This placement supports a person seeking asylum to be employed in the role of Housing and Maintenance Officer at the House of Welcome.

The House of Welcome is able to employ people seeking asylum into this role for 12 month placements. During this time the individual has the opportunity to participate in weekly, professional supervision and skills development training that assists them in gaining employment in the wider community.

Through this program people seeking asylum are empowered to gain sustainable employment, giving them the sense of belonging in the community and benefiting not only the person but their family and community as well.
